One page

Go live, and the other buttons you will press.

If you only read one page, read this. The longer versions are linked under each job.

Put a picture on the air

  1. Open the switcher. Studio: View → Video Switcher. Express on a computer: add a video track, then click the camera icon on that track.
  2. Click your camera. It lands on Preview. Preview is the next shot. It is not on the air yet.
  3. Press TAKE. Preview becomes Program. Viewers, the recording, and the stream all see Program.

Go live

  1. On YouTube, Facebook or Twitch, create the live stream and copy the stream key. ProdHQ does not log into those sites.
  2. In the switcher, open GO LIVE and add that destination. Paste the server URL and the key. You can add up to 8.
  3. Facebook: select the Facebook card, then press Profile, Page, or Group so the card matches the key you pasted.
  4. Press GO LIVE. Only Program goes out. Demo Mode cannot go live. That unlocks when you subscribe.

The show-title box is for your guests' welcome card. Type the same words on YouTube or Facebook when you create the stream there. The key does not carry a title. Full go-live steps.

A guest

  1. Open a room and copy the guest link.
  2. They open it in a browser and allow the camera and mic. Admit them from the lobby.
  3. Click their tile, then TAKE.
  4. To clear them off the shot and keep them in the show: right-click → Take off Preview, then TAKE again.

Guest steps.

Comments

  1. People watching your ProdHQ room: their questions show up once the room is open. Nothing else to type.
  2. Twitch: type the channel name once in Audience, then turn that channel on.
  3. YouTube: type the @handle once, paste one YouTube Data API key, then turn that channel on.

Going live does not start the chat by itself. Facebook comments stay on Facebook. Comment steps.

Look of the show

  1. On the SOURCES line: Logo, Names, Background, Intro.
  2. A colored background shows on Preview when the box has no camera in it. Press TAKE to put that look on Program.
  3. Layouts under the monitors are the layouts: full, picture-in-picture, split, four, grid.

Record

  1. Press RECORD before or during the stream. You can record without going live.
  2. Stop. You get the finished Program and, in Studio, a separate file for each camera, already placed on a timeline.

A radio promo, no cameras

  1. File → Session Templates → Promo (or Commercial Spot).
  2. Drop the voice on a lane, the bed on another. Space plays. Press I for intro, E for end.
  3. Export → WideOrbit WAV when the station automation needs it. MP3 when it does not.

Promo steps. Stuck on any of this? Troubleshooting.
